This is the perfect kit for the budding leathercraft novice. Included are all the essential tools you’d need to start your first project from the ’Leathercraft Handbook’.
In my own journey, I remember signing up for a 2-day leathercraft workshop back in 2012 and by the end of it, I had purchased a set of tools from my teacher of pretty much the exact set I have put together here. These are the tools that have set my own way as a leather craftsperson. My favourites are the rawhide hammer and the pricking chisel. Once you start using a rawhide hammer (also used in jewellery making), you will never go back. I remember cutting leather on the floor of the B&B once on a mini weekend break, the dining table of my mother’s house when I went to visit, and saddle stitching in front of the television.Included in the set are:
Cutting knife
Metal ruler
Cutting mat
Pricking chisel (4mm) x 4
Beveller
Burnisher
Gum tragacanth
Leather needles
Awl
Divider
Hole punch set (6 piece)
Waxed threads (black and white)
A4 size veg-tanned leather
A3 size pattern paper
